Can you handle the truth?

Most older men can’t.

No matter what they say, they can’t.

And, because they can’t, the information you need to hear never gets told.

It goes against the grain.

It gets too much resistance from untrained minds.

So, why bother?

These are just a few of the things that elite, experienced men who workout and look great (and have for a long time) want to tell you, but they know you just won’t understand.

They know that you are getting the majority of your instruction from undertrained minds. You’re getting your information from people who worry too much about what other people think. They worry about what the “internet trolls” and inexperienced, less knowledgeable fitness experts will say about them.

If you want to get to the next level . . . I mean you REALLY want to get to the next level . . . you need to know what I’ve posted down below.

1. If you are counting your macros, you’re counting your calories too. You’re just stopping one step short in the arithmetic. If you don’t like the way you look in the mirror, it isn’t because your “macro ratio” isn’t perfect. There’s no magic in the “perfect” macro ratio. Look elsewhere for what’s stopping you from having the body you want. That’s not it.

2. There are no “super foods” that will cause you to be fat or lean all by themselves. It’s going to come down to calories more than the quality of food to lose the fat. Eating in a “healthy” manner isn’t always directly tied to being lean and muscular. Should you be eating healthy foods AND look fit? I think so. But you can get lean eating foods that aren’t all that good for you.

3. All the reps in the world (12 to 15 per set) aren’t going to get you lean. Abs, arms, man boobs . . . not anywhere on your body. And, if you aren’t OVERLOADING the muscle underneath your body fat, you aren’t progressing and improving their look either. So, forget about the 50 leg raises and the 100 situps for better looking abs. They feel good after doing them, but they’re inefficient. You must overload the targeted muscle group with weight . . . or create that overload with a tremendous amount of efficiency waiting for that 50th or 100th rep to finally get to overload.

4. Strict form isn’t nearly as important as most men think. Your form isn’t the reason why you look the way you do in the mirror whether you like what you see or you don’t. (See #5, #7, #8, and especially #10.) Look elsewhere.

5. Heavy weight doesn’t get you hurt. Using weight that is TOO HEAVY FOR YOU is what can get you hurt. No one tells you how much weight to use. Any weight you use should be “heavy” by the end of your set if you’re doing it right.

If you can't lose the last 10 pounds or so of body fat no matter how hard you work out, it's because of the way you're eating.

Even if you think you're eating well enough and in a calorie deficit, this short video explains why that's not enough to get the job done.

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 “𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀” 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗨𝗽 𝗔𝘁 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?

If you’re like most of the men who listen to this podcast, you have accomplished a few things in your life. But, despite those accomplishments and all of the praise you continually get, you’re still not satisfied. You have a lot of talent. You’re willing to do the hard work. You just know that you have a lot more to achieve in your life. You have a lot of “unfinished business”!

In this podcast, I talk about how you’re not alone if you think about all of the things you still haven’t accomplished or experienced in your life yet.

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 “𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀” 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗨𝗽 𝗔𝘁 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?

When you look in the mirror, you’ll know what it takes to get from where you are now (Point A) to get to where you want to be (Point B) with more certainty and confidence. It doesn’t matter where you are right now or what your goals are, you’ll know what to do.

Then, it will just be a matter of you doing what you know for a long enough period of time. That’s a great place to be. You’ll have a better sense of control during the entire process. The most important training, eating, lifestyle, and mindset strategies are all covered.

You’ll know exactly what to do ...

Today after a warm-up I decided to eliminate pyramiding up in weight and just go for my heaviest weight for 8-10 in squats. That was 225/8, 225/6, and 225/7. Then I applied that same method with incline DB 70/11, 70/10, followed by close grip Lat Pulldowns 125/10, 130/10, 140/7. With a bit more rest between sets I hit my 1st rule. My rule is 60 minutes

ENTER THE GYM WITH A SET OF STANDARDS IN YOUR HEAD

===================
Workouts Tips For Older Men

These could be very simple. You don’t need a lot. In fact, a short list will suffice. It will be helpful to write them down because you need to spend about 30 seconds before you start working out to review those standards.

Like I said, these can be very simple, such as “I’m going to be in and out of the gym in 45 minutes, one hour” or however long your workout takes.

One of them might be, “I’m not going to look at email, answer my phone or chat with anybody until I’ve completed my workout.” Another might be, “I had something left in me the last time I worked out; today I’m going to push harder.”

The point of these standards is that they set the tone for your workout and they get your mind focused on that tone. At the next level, you don’t walk into the gym, start working out, and hope your focus or motivation kicks in once you get going.

You lift your first weight already in that state.

What makes this a next ...
